GLENNVILLE, GA - Charles Weldon "Buddy" Holt, Jr., 78, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Savannah, GA.
Mr. Holt was born in Memphis, TN, the son of the late Charles "Charlie" and Cleo Holt. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Tri-State and Tri-Trak Tractors for many years and ultimately became co-owner of his own business, Westside Trak, where he retired. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Garden City, GA and a member of the First Baptist Church in Woodbury, TN.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Holt was preceded in death by his sister, Sonja Berry. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, June Holt of Glennville, GA; children, Leslie and Vince Dettore of St. Simons Island, GA, Lisa and Chris Gay of Pooler, GA, Chuck Holt of Savannah, GA, Chris Holt and Christy Nelson of Guyton, GA; grandchildren, Michael "Scoby" Gay, Cory "Buck" Gay, Heather Dettore, and Hillary Dettore; siblings, Shirley Nolen of Woodbury, TN, Catherine White of Sevierville, TN, Robert Holt Wanda of Athens, GA, and Johnny Holt Carolyn of Greeneville, TN.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Evans Memorial Hospital, Emergency Department in Claxton, GA and St. Joseph's Hospital, Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit in Savannah, GA for their care and support.
The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m., Sunday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with Rev. Ken Sharpe and Rev. Mike Howard officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Ronald McDonald House, 4710 Waters Avenue, Savannah, GA 31404.

I am so very sorry for this terrible loss. I did not know Buddy but I do know Leslie and I know he must have been a wonderful Father because he did a great job raising Leslie. I am praying for the whole family to receive comfort knowing that one day you will meet Buddy again.
